5 Innovative Products That Caught Our Attention At Beauty Expo

We’ve scoured the beauty landscape all weekend for you!

Beauty Expo 2024 wrapped up last weekend, offering the biggest beauty conference in Australia with so many exhibitors, it’s hard to get to all of them even if you spend an entire day there. But of course we tried our best to find new, innovative products or services that you might not have heard of before. So here it is, our edit of things that caught our attention at the 2024 Beauty Expo.

K Headspa Shower Head With Vitamin Gel Filter

Scalp treatments have become increasingly popular in the past 12 months, with many spas and even some skin clinics now offering ‘head spa’ services. K Headspa introduced us to a shower head that can not only be used to massage your scalp, shoulders and neck thanks to different attachments, but it also filters and purifies your water, making it suitable for people with sensitive skins.

The real game-changer? The optional Vitamin Gel filter that infuses your shower water with a Vitamin of your choice, nourishing not just your scalp but your entire body. On top of this, you can include one of six different ‘sparkling tablets’ for different scalp conditions such as flakiness, dry scalp, sensitivity etc. Talk about taking your shower to the next level!

Child-friendly and tween skincare

We all know that tweens are obsessed with skincare at the moment, unfortunately sometimes causing more issues than care for their skin when using overly active products that are not suitable for their age. To combat this, and to educate the younger generation, brands such as Petite Skin Co are formulating all natural, gentle products to introduce the next generation to healthy skincare.

As more parents realise the importance of applying SPF to their children’s skin from a very young age, so comes the need to remove said product at the end of the day, and keep their young ones’ skin balanced. It is also important to choose the right sunscreen for your child, which is where brands such as The Kind Sunscreen come in, offering natural zinc products with a minimalist 9-ingredient formula that won’t irritate your babies’, toddlers’, or children’s skin.

INDIBA ‘Cold’ RF

This device, originally from Spain, and now with distribution in Australia offers ‘cold’ RF treatments with its 448kHz technology for deep tissue penetration. It offers aesthetic benefits such as skin tightening, but can also be used for wellbeing treatments and accelerated healing post-surgery and in combination with other aesthetic treatments.

Research shows that the stable frequency of 448 kHz allows you to achieve three different treatment effects along with their associated results: Hyperactivation (hyperthermal), Vascularization (thermal), and Biostimulation (sub-thermal).

Heelalujah

Our feet are often neglected in our body routines, and might not even be a focus in your treatment menu, and yet, many adults suffer from cracked heels that are almost impossible to treat or require you to wear uncomfortable and messy treatment socks. This is where Heelalujah comes in.

After suffering from cracked heels postpartum herself, Founder Jodie Weerts came up with a product design that is much more comfortable than squishy socks. The sockette was born! It’s a silicone heel cover that’s easy to put on and allows you to get on with your day while wearing it. The simple 3-step process starts with removing the dead skin with a pumice, applying the nourishing wonder balm and holding the product in place (not smeared on the floor) with the custom sockette. We think this would make a very popular retail product in your spa or clinic.

SPF ‘wardrobes’

If you’re a beauty professional, you know how important daily SPF is, but you probably also know that everyone has different preferences when it comes to their SPFs. Some prefer a non-visible, light texture, others want theirs tinted to provide some coverage, and then of course there is the whole chemical vs physical SPF debate.

This is why we’ve noticed a trend towards offering a whole ‘wardrobe’ of different sunscreens by some brands, such as SIMKA, who are about to launch three different SPF products plus a SPF lip balm. There will be a Sheer Mineral Milk, an Invisible Facial Fluid, and a Tinted Facial Fluid, all SPF 50s, plus a SPF 15 Lip Therapy product – something for everyone!
