With the medi-cosmetic and aesthetics industries converging and collaborating ever-closer, there are key events during the year that SPA+CLINIC urges you not to miss, and the annual Non-Surgical Symposium is a must.
It’s less than two weeks away, and the focus of this year’s gathering on the Gold Coast will be Safety and Science. Don’t miss out – register now!
Being held June 22-25 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, NSS is one of the premier educational events for non-surgical aesthetics in Australasia, co-hosted by the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia (CPCA), the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM) and this year, for the first time, the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists (ASCD).
Inaugurated in Sydney in 2011, the NSS has rapidly grown, with the Symposiums held in Melbourne in 2015 and 2016 both sellouts.
The doors are open to all medical practitioners performing non-surgical rejuvenation; plastic surgeons, cosmetic doctors, dermatologists and other doctors performing medical aesthetic treatments. Importantly, it is also open to their team members, including nurse aestheticians, dermal therapists and practice staff.
As per previous symposiums, the dynamic program is interactive, with focus on expert discussions. There will be independent presentations by a long list of international and leading local presenters on state-of-the-art concepts and practice in the non-surgical rejuvenation sector.
NSS will again cover the entire spectrum of appearance medicine, from injectables through to skin care, laser/light devices and non-surgical body contouring tools. A lot has happened in the last year to bring you up to speed on.
In 2016, NSS introduced video injecting rather than live injecting demonstrations so as to make the process more efficient, with better images and a more interactive learning experience.
PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP
On the day prior to the Symposium, Thursday, June 22, ASAPS will run the Anatomical Dissection and Live Injecting Workshop (additional fees apply).
There will be a lecture program on the anatomical changes of ageing and how this affects facial aesthetics and guides treatment selection. The workshop will have a combination of anatomical dissection and live injecting, and the program is modified each year according to feedback.

LET’S PLAY!
Science is of course the focus of the NSS but the organisers sure know how to throw a party!
The welcome reception (to be held the evening of June 22, before everyone gets down to business next morning) is an annual industry social networking highlight, as SPA+CLINIC can attest.
And while this year’s Gala Dinner towards the end of the conference will be more laid back than last year’s black tie event, it will retain all the bells, whistles and glamour that attendees have come to love and expect.
The social events (as well as delicious lunch, morning and afternoon tea buffets between sessions in the conference area) are inclusive of the registration fee.
STELLAR LINE-UP
An impressive schedule of presentations has been organised for attendees (please note the scientific program is subject to change without notice, so check regularly for updates).
