Ashleigh Sharman reveals the three colours your client can’t be without this season direct from the latest Pantone Colour Report.
Global leaders in colour analysis and trend predictions, Pantone have released their latest fashion colour report for spring 2016 — unveiling an optimistic palette perfectly suited to fans of natural and mineral makeup.
“Colours this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute.
“With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation,” adding that the season’s colours transcend cultural and gender norms, focusing on a sense of play.
Despite it’s northern-hemisphere focus, mineral makeup brands are already embracing the suite of colours which include Rose Quartz, Peach Echo, Iced Coffee, Serenity, Snorkel Blue, Buttercup, Limpet Shell, Lilac Gray, Fiesta, and Green Flash.
“We especially love the pinks and iced coffee brown from the new season’s colour palette”, says Ere Perez of the subtle tones, perfect for all seasons.
“They’re so great as beauty bag staples and foundation colours for a naturally beautiful look, both day and evening and for any season”.
LaGlam Minerals’ Amanda La Monica also shares enthusiasm for the latest colour predictions, adding the trends will also be swiftly adopted by spring/summer brides.
“Think pastel, rose eye shadow and a peach lip to brighten and lift the face without drawing sharp attention,” she says.
“Remember though, you’re not creating a clown face for clients so just a hint of colour is key. Peach on the lips and rose blush, teamed with a coffee neutral colour on the eye is also match made in heaven!”
Christina Diamond, Senior Brand Manager, INIKA Cosmetics, adds that the colour prediction will support a shift from stark colours to lighter softer colours that promote luminosity.
“The colours work in harmony with the softness we are already seeing in this summer’s make up trends,” says Christina.
“Rose quartz represents the beautiful soft glow that we believe will be a big trend over summer as an illuminated complexion has already taken the world by storm with highlighters, illuminators and strobing effects at the forefront of makeup trends.”
Christina adds it is no surprise that peachy tones trend every summer in our market, adding warmth to the complexion, and that a softer smokey eye will prevail as we focus on blending techniques.
So there you have it, the three on-trend colours that will not only suit every client complexion but are likely to already be on your shelf!
