BREAKING NEWS: Beauty Melbourne Postponed

An official release has just been issued from Reed Exhibitions announcing that Beauty Melbourne, set to take place next weekend (March 28-29), will be postponed due to new COVID-19 prevention measures.

One of Australia’s largest and long-running beauty industry events, the two-day trade show was expected to attract over 4000 attendees this year across the exhibition hall and two-day education programme. With most large scale events throughout our industry already being cancelled or postponed until later in the year due to Coronavirus prevention, including Cosmoprof Bologna, FIT Summit, and World Spa & Wellness London just to name a few, the announcement does not come as a huge surprise to most, particularly after Australia’s chief medical officer recommended on Friday that mass gatherings of  500+ attendees should be cancelled.

Organisers are of course devastated but know the decision is for the best in terms of public safety.

“We at Beauty Melbourne want to express our concern for everyone impacted by Coronavirus,” reads the official statement, sent out the morning of Monday March 16. “The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives here in Australia and across the world. In the context of the current situation, and following public health advice, we have made the difficult but appropriate decision to postpone Beauty Melbourne, which was planned to be held from 28-29 March, until the second half of 2020. Reed Exhibitions will work closely with our customers to find the most suitable alternative dates for the event.”

“Our top priority is ensuring a safe environment for everyone involved. We fully understand and appreciate the level of planning that is required to participate in an event like ours and we will do our utmost to help all our customers, partners and attendees to prepare for the new dates. We would like to thank everyone for the encouragement and support received during this challenging time. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We ask for your patience during this time, but rest assured we will be in touch very soon with further details.”
