CUTERA Celebrates 25 Years Of Confidence At Annual CUCF Event

A sold-out success filled with education, confidence and a touch of sparkle.

CUTERA hosted with confidence, glitter & sunshine over the weekend at the Langham Gold Coast their annual University Clinical Forum. The two day educational event hosted both national and international speakers, with a live demo suite and entertainment, topped with a spectacular cocktail evening event.

To kick off CUCF 2023, delegates were welcomed into day one with an emphasis on confidence, and what that means for both the patient and practitioner. The morning then transitioned into a highlight of 25 years of confidence with CUTERA, and what they have achieved in the process.

What was highlighted is that the global cosmetic laser market has grown from $2.42 billion in 2021, to $2.93 billion two years later, indicating a CAGR of 21%. Further predictions shared were that the industry will grow a further $5.89 billion at a CAGR of 19.1%, with Asia pacific leading as the second largest market for demand.

CUTERA also announced their recent partnership with Adelaide Women’s & Children’s Hospital and the Sydney Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for management of post surgical scars and reconstructive patients.

General Manager of CUTERA AUS/NZ Brett Elliot presented the key criteria when considering investing in capital equipment, such as clinical outcomes that are safe efficacious and reputable, patient experience, ease of use, treatment duration, ROI, and company support – all of which CUTERA has skilfully focused on alongside a rise in consumer awareness.

Dr Arash Moradzadeh, leading double-board certified ENT and facial plastic surgeon from Beverly Hills, CA, and Dr Ryan De Cruz from Southern Dermatology in Melbourne, presented capabilities of the ExcelV+ and Xeo – including what led them to introduce these into their practice, whilst sharing some skilful details of parameters and patient case studies, with interactive Q&A from the audience.

The afternoon took light with the focus being on non-invasive body contouring, with the spotlight being on truBody and the reimagined branding. A strong point made here was consultation is key, and that managing expectations with patients is absolutely crucial in achieving optimal results.

Body sculpting was shown to have grown 5x over the last eight years, with over 1 million non-surgical treatments being performed in 2019. With the demand continuing to rise into 2021, these markets jumped significantly; with a 58% increase in non surgical fat reduction, and 42% increase in muscle stimulation treatments.
The rise of demand tied in cohesively with the reimagined truBody platform, with means of showcasing the device’s capabilities to transform bodies in as little as under 15-30 minutes.

Dr Moradzadeh stated “treat to transformation”, with emphasis on a 360 global approach when consulting and treating patients with truBody.

The evening transitioned into nothing but glitter and shimmer, with a stunning cocktail event held at a rooftop bar at the Nineteen Gold Coast. Prizes were given away for best dressed, with delegates spending their evening being treated with Cutera cocktails and canapés.

On the second day, attendees were introduced to AviClear, a revolutionary new technology aimed at significantly reducing acne and preventing its recurrence. While it is not currently available in the ANZ market, it is expected to be released later this year.

The afternoon was then swiftly delivered by Dr Shobhan Manoharan, founder of Dermatology Clinics, showcasing the Enlighten Pico Laser. Dr Shobhan then hosted a live Q&A panel with Kelly George and Dr Sean Arendse to answer all questions on the device and its capabilities.

The day was brought to a close with focus on the Xeo device, with a final expert Q&A panel on laser physics and the power of light in skin rejuvenation. Brett Elliot then officially concluded the 2 day education seminar with a thank you to delegates.

After a spectacular weekend spent with CUTERA and the AUS & NZ team, we look forward to attending CUCF for 2024.
