Get To Know Our Speakers: Dr Nora

We spoke to the bubbly Dr Nora to find out about her expansive career and why she is excited to be a part of BEAUTY & SPA Insiders.

After a tumultuous year for the events industry and a new date set, the team at SPA+CLINIC are thrilled to bring you the second instalment of BEAUTY & SPA Insiders. We have once again joined forces with Professional Beauty to present a unique summit for spa, clinic and salon owners on Monday 26 October at the Ovolo Woolloomooloo.

We have a stellar programme of industry powerhouses lined up for you, and we thought we’d give you the chance to get to know them a little better before the big day. Dr Nora is speaking on the panel Technology To Simplify, Multiply or Raise Profits.

Dr Nora’s resume is very impressive. She is a general practitioner, non-surgical trainer and technologist behind the innovative Treatment Pad iOS app. Among all this, she still finds time to educate and inspire on her social media channels. She is a true firecracker in the aesthetics space.

Over to you Nora!

Tell us why you’re looking forward to speaking at BEAUTY & SPA Insiders?

I’m looking forward to sharing the technological advances made for clinical photography. In particular, as the Lead Researcher for the Treatment Pad iOS app, I used to endure needless wasted time and stress trying to generate accurate before and after photos for my patient’s treatment experience and practice marketing needs. However, this can now all be done for me using artificial intelligence to simplify my workflow and increase patient satisfaction. I can’t wait to discuss this and other useful tips I’ve picked up along the way with the panel and attendees.

What does a normal day look like for you?

I am an early riser and feel the most productive in the morning. I always start my day off with some weight training exercises and a healthy bowl of porridge as it gives me the power I need to get through to lunch time. I split my week between working as a General Practitioner, Cosmetic Doctor and of course on my social media platforms. When I am consulting, I get an absolute adrenaline rush from seeing patients. On these days after work, I reflect back on cases and procedures that I have seen and read articles for any new presentations. I’ll unwind by playing on the piano and head to bed after dinner.  On the days that I am not consulting, I spend a lot of time being creative and planning my social media platforms. This in itself takes a lot of focus and energy, but I love producing content for my YouTube channel which includes informative health tips and cosmetic procedure patient experiences.

The best advice anyone has ever given you?

With every missed opportunity comes another opportunity. My then fiancé, now husband told me this many years ago and it rings true for me this year more than any, given the worldly circumstances.

If you could travel right now, where would you go and why?

I’ve been very fortunate to have been to a lot of countries already, coming from the UK where everything is a short plane ride away. So far, Australia has to be the nicest country I have been to, so I’d want to stay put. That being said, I’d love to drive around the whole of the country and discover the beauty that it has to offer.

What is your prediction for the next trend in aesthetics technology?

Given the use of artificial intelligence and advancing technology, I think we’re going to see a lot more of this in the workplace with less need for human input. As an example, robotic hair transplantations have replaced the need for intensive and sometimes tedious manual labour and Treatment Pad aims to replace the need for manual clinical photography.

How do you like to learn?

I’m very much an auditory learner. I love listening to lectures and talks. Similarly, I find that as a cosmetic injectables trainer, delivering lectures also helps to sediment my own knowledge.

What do you love most about the aesthetics industry?

I love making people feel good and know what they’re doing. There is so much going on in this field, so many advances and so many different pathways. Whether a patient is after a dramatic or subtle change, it’s so gratifying being able to share my knowledge and experiences through my consults, as well as through my online videos. Helping to empower them through their treatment journey.
