On Monday May 27th, S+C opened the doors to our inaugural B2B beauty and aesthetics industry summit, BEAUTY & SPA Insiders, and we could not be more thrilled with the results!

Co-hosted alongside Professional Beauty, the day saw nearly 200 aestheticians and business owners from day spas, medi spas, skin clinics, cosmetic surgery practices and salons from around Australia to see some of the industry’s best and brightest speak on the freshest topics and trends, and share their unique success stories and tips.

Led by the hilarious Dani Lombard as MC, speakers included Natalie Isaacs (‘1 Million Women’), Sarah Laidlaw (Priceline), Kristin Fisher (Kristin Fisher Eyebrows), Natalie Papadopoulos (The Parlour Room), Chiza Westcarr (Nutritional Skincare Academy), Sofia Amirova (Amirova Cosmetic Clinic), Dr Naomi (The Manse Clinic), Maria Cocciolone (Inskin Cosmedics), Lisa Conway (Zing Business Coaching) Robyn McAlpine (SkintifiX), Tamara Shaw (Beaute Industrie), Woodrow Wilson (Clinical Imaging), Dr Kate Jameson (Youth Lab), Angelina Veljanoski (Skin Angel), Dr Bruce Williamson (SkinSmart Medical) and Kelly George (Registered Aesthetic Nurse).

Some (unsurprising!) favourites on the day included Dr Naomi, known for her hilariously cheeky and witty social media presence, taking attendees through her experiences with haters and trolls and how to deal with them, along with a packed-out session with Clinical Imaging’s Woodrow Wilson as he explained in depth details on how to produce killer before and after images.

As always, small business and marketing topics (in this case Influencers, e-commerce, demographic marketing, recruiting and discounting) went highly appreciated by guests, and our lively panels kept attendees on their toes, covering off topics like global trends in makeup and wellness, if devices are worth the investment, or the perks and pitfalls of creating your own skincare range.

Additional perks of the day included a selfie station, which was never seen without a queue, and goodie bags valued at $300 upon entry. Guests also enjoyed an invaluable opportunity to network (and let their hair down with friends and colleagues!) at a fabulous cocktail and canape networking drinks immediately following the summit.

BEAUTY & SPA Insiders aimed to fill a gap in the market for a fast-paced, innovative and inspiring education platform for business owners and aestheticians that was built around innovators telling their stories and sharing their tips – far-removed from the industry’s usual (often slow-paced) conference-style summit. And that’s exactly what was delivered. We here at SPA+CLINIC were absolutely blown away by the positive feedback received from guests (our highlights including ‘amazing speakers’, ‘so affordable considering the content’, and ‘not boring like the rest!’ We are incredibly humbled by your kind words, and cannot wait to host you all again next year!
