Dr. Wayne Young, a renowned Aesthetic Physician and the visionary mind behind Babyface Clinic, is reshaping the landscape of aesthetic care. Nestled in the heart of Haymarket, Castle Hill, and North Ryde in Sydney, Babyface Clinic stands as a beacon of innovation, offering state-of-the-art treatments for facial and body rejuvenation.
In a conversation with Dr. Young, we dive into the ethos of Babyface Clinic and its recent addition to its arsenal: Sofwave technology. Dr. Young elucidates on the meticulous process behind integrating Sofwave into their repertoire of treatments and the transformative effects witnessed since its inception.
Tell me about your clinic, how would you describe it?
Babyface is an aesthetic clinic that provides cutting-edge technology and treatments for the face and body. With our core patients of Asian descent, our focus is very much on how we can visibly improve their aesthetics while providing reliable, optimal care with natural-looking results.
We have three clinics located in Haymarket, Castle Hill and North Ryde, along with three Aesthetic Doctors and 30 Laser Therapists who work full-time in our clinics.
What made you decide to add Sofwave to your offering?
We collectively discussed all the potential technologies available on the market while identifying what gaps we had and improvements that we could make on our current platforms. We then critically assessed the market and also the safety profile of devices and how this can be incorporated into our clinics with our other platforms.
With our medical team we then looked at what the top overseas clinics are using which led us to the decision that Sofwave was the ideal fit for our clinic and our patients.
What kind of client and skin concern do you typically treat with Sofwave?
Most of our patients have some skin laxity so Sofwave’s ultrasound skin tightening and lifting technology is an easy treatment plan for our clinic.
However, that being said, we always assess our patients’ needs on an individual basis and work with them to ensure they receive a tailored treatment programme to achieve the best possible outcome.
How do your patients rate the treatment in terms of discomfort?
We have many pain-phobic patients so the aspect of pain management with our treatments is paramount to providing optimal care. Sofwave has proven to be ideal in this regard, as overall we have found the treatment to be very well tolerated.
What is your patients’ feedback on results with Sofwave?
Having treated over 400 patients, we have had many repeat patients and the response rate has been exceptionally good.
How has Sofwave improved your business?
Sofwave has filled a gap in our technology menu and has been an asset with the skin-tightening subset of patients.
Have you found it profitable?
Profitability is very important in these market conditions which is why we spend so much time assessing technology before investing. Sofwave has definitely proven profitable for our clinic.
Developed to treat skin laxity and address the appearance of lines and wrinkles,
Sofwave’s pioneering SUPERB Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam technology enables treatment at the mid-dermis (the ideal treatment depth for ageing skin), while ensuring no damage to the epidermis or to the underlying structures beneath the dermis.
Now with the addition of the new Precise Applicator, Sofwave can treat hard-to-reach areas including the eyes and mouth, as well as more curved areas, such as the forehead and jawline.
The Precise Applicator is a smaller version of the current Lift applicator. It has 3 synchronized parallel high-intensity, high-frequency ultrasound transducers (as opposed to 7 with the Lift Applicator) and is designed for targeted treatments and easier access to smaller areas such as Peri Orbital (around the eyes), Peri Oral (around the mouth), as well more curved areas that can be more challenging to reach.
