Dubbed America’s #1 Beauty Tool, the FasciaBlaster is now available on Aussie shores.
Over the past few years, the beauty industry has seen a significant shift toward holistic treatments. It’s no longer enough to simply treat one aspect of a concern to achieve the best results. Clients expect treatments and advice that target the symptom and the cause from the inside, out. With this shift has come a slew of new tools and devices that make it easy for therapists to treat the skin while also paying attention to what’s going on below the surface, and one that’s making waves is the FasciaBlaster.
The FasciaBlaster has hauled in a number of award wins in the United States and after experiencing significant growth, is finally launching in Australia. The tool is backed by a number of peer reviewed studies and presents spa and aesthetic professionals with a ground-breaking way to level-up face and body treatments by targeting the fascia.
We chatted with founder of the FasciaBlaster, entrepreneur Ashley Black, to learn more about the product and its use in spa and clinical treatments.
Can you tell us a little about your background in the beauty space before developing the FasciaBlaster?
I’ve spent the past 30 years studying fascia. Fascia is the body’s connective tissue that encases and penetrates every part of the body. It’s like a giant human cotton candy ball.
I spent many years in a clinical setting. I then transitioned into being a celebrity therapist with an elite client roster, and I treated their fascia for health and beauty purposes. If you would’ve asked me 12 years ago, I would have said, “I’m not in the beauty space.” But it turns out that understanding the fascia system has incredible effects on beauty because the fascia is largely what determines the shape of the body and fascia feeds the skin.
Fascia is also the root cause of cellulite. I’ve always been interested in beauty hacks for myself. But once I made the connection between fascia in the beauty effects, then it was basically on like Donkey Kong!
What was your inspiration for the product? What gap did you see in the market?
I think everyone knows how good a massage is for muscles and blood flow. Whether it’s a Swedish, lymphatic, deep tissue or facials, massage is widely practiced.
So for me, the gap in the market was designing a tool that was specifically for the fascia. The FasciaBlaster does not roll and it’s a hard surface, so it has the ability to penetrate much deeper and accomplish something that no other tool ever has before.
The biggest gap I could address is the direct result of fascia restoration, things that people didn’t think were possible, such as cellulite, turkey neck, belly overhang. These are all things that are related to the fascia and it’s just a gaping, glaring hole in the market.
Can you talk us through the science behind the FasciaBlaster? What concerns is it treating and how?
Medical training starts with a dissection course where they extract the fascia. It’s then virtually ignored. That’s how we’ve missed it. Studying and treating fascia just hasn’t been a consideration, but it’s the universal singularity in the body.
Fascia has an impact on everything in the body. But in terms of beauty, I would say that the top two things that FasciaBlasting treats are cellulite and loose skin. Fascia is the root cause of cellulite, and by regenerating it, you can eradicate cellulite. And research demonstrates that pressure applied into the fascia of the face releases stem cells from the stem cell reservoirs. We’ve seen the disappearance of cellulite and the improvements in skin laxity in science and in our customer base.
The bottom line is that the fascia blasting system sets off a chain reaction for the tissue to begin to remodel. When we talk about collagen remodelling, or extracellular matrix remodelling, or the scaffolding that holds the skin, that’s what we’re talking about, we’re talking about fascia.
What have the results of your peer-reviewed studies been like?
We hired a third-party, award-winning, single-blinded research group, one of the best in America; ASPI Applied Science Performance Institute. We wanted to know two things: that it was safe and what was happening below the skin.
We knew that FasciaBlasting had results that were visible to the naked eye with thousands of customers, but we wanted to know why. The biggest thing we found was that the tissue below the skin and inside the muscles was remodelling. This was confirmed in blood results with increase in collagen markers-PICP. No one’s ever been able to accomplish this before. Not even stem cells, PRP or surgery.
In addition to that, 100% of the participants had a visible smoothing of cellulite as well as spot fat reduction. They had an increase in metabolic rate and there was a decrease in the C reactive protein, which is a marker for inflammation. In terms of it being safe, whatever toxicity is coming out of the body by FasciaBlasting, it’s coming out through normal metabolic processes without your detox systems being taxed.
How can spa and clinic professionals use the FasciaBlaster during their treatments?
There is definitely a demand with 93% of our customers surveyed who self-treat, want to go to a professional for FasciaBlasting sessions. A therapist or aesthetician would incorporate FasciaBlasting into their facials as well as all of their body treatments. It could be a stand-alone treatment, meaning they could blast the whole body for an hour, or they could do 15 minutes of cellulite blasting within a massage session. It’s also easy to do a full facial of neck, jaw, crow’s feet, lipsm etc. or they could mix it in with things such as Hydrafacials, microdermabrasion etc. We are an “AND” company. We are not an either or solution. We are whatever treatment you provide and FasciaBlasting.
