A For Excellence

Since the mid 1990s, retinoids, the active form of vitamin A, have been known to prevent wrinkles when applied topically.

Indeed, ‘they are the only topical product that gets rid of wrinkles you already have,’ says internationally-renowned dermatologist, American Dr Leslie Baumann.

Now the bar has been raised – 16 notches – with the development by Doctor Babor of Retinew A16, a protein fraction extracted from the seeds of the Indian moth bean.

‘This new active ingredient is 16 times more concentrated than Vitamin A,’ explains Andrea Weber, head of the Research and Innovation Centre at Babor in Germany.

The wonder elixir is the key ingredient in two new Doctor Babor products, Derma Cellular Ultimate A16 Booster Concentrate, a serum to be used at night, and Detoxifying Vitamin Cream SPF 15.

Retinew A16 speeds up skin renewal by activating the skin’s growth factors as well as the fibroblasts, which produce collagen. At the same time, it stimulates keratinocytes that are responsible for epidermal regeneration. The skin is revitalised and looks smoother and more even.

During the day, Detoxifying Vitamin Cream SPF 15 (which also contains Retinew A16) supports the skin renewal process stimulated by the Booster Concentrate. As well, the cream features high-doses of vitamin C and E to strengthen the skin’s immune defense system and improve its natural ability to protect itself against UV rays and environmental stressors.
