What Motivated ‘The Skin Fairy’ To Open An Organic Baby Spa In Perth

Founder of Perth’s infamous ‘The Skin Fairy’ Carmen McNamara puts forward her own dedication and expertise to venture into a new beloved destination for parents and their precious little ones.

Perth is set to embrace a serene retreat for its youngest residents with the opening of Little Sunshine Spa, the city’s first organic baby spa.

Located in the vibrant suburb of Mt Hawthorn, this innovative establishment will offer hydrotherapy and infant massage for babies aged one week to nine months, along with a curated selection of 11 organic skincare brands specifically formulated for infants and tweens.

The vision behind Little Sunshine Spa

The inspiration and driving force behind Little Sunshine Spa is Carmen McNamara, a prominent figure in the skincare industry and the owner of Perth’s renowned Skin Fairy clinics. As a mother of three young children, Carmen’s dedication to creating a safe and nurturing sanctuary for families stems from her personal experiences and commitment to healthy skin and self-care.

“The idea for Little Sunshine Spa stemmed from my background in dermal therapy, becoming a mother, and recognising a clear need in Perth for an organic baby spa, as there isn’t one. As a mother of three, I’ve experienced firsthand the confusion and concern about finding safe skincare options for my children”, Carmen shared.

“Despite my decade-long experience in the skin industry, I felt overwhelmed when it came to choosing the right products for my first baby 6 years ago. This personal journey highlighted a significant gap in the market, and I realised that other families in Perth were likely facing similar challenges.”

Little Sunshine Spa is designed to be a tranquil retreat, featuring interiors adorned with soothing pastel yellow and purple hues. The spa offers a range of services and products aimed at promoting the health and well-being of babies and children:

  • Hydrotherapy and Infant Massage:
Skilled and experienced practitioners deliver hydrotherapy sessions, allowing newborns to float in water, and gentle infant massages to promote relaxation and development.
  • Organic Skincare:
A selection of 11 clean, organic skincare brands specifically formulated for infants and tweens is available. These products are designed to cleanse and protect young skin from head to toe.

The grand opening of Little Sunshine Spa on July 24 was a delightful event, welcoming new mums and dads to explore the space and experience its offerings. The celebration included activities like face painting and ice cream, creating a festive atmosphere for families.

With the successful launch of the Mt Hawthorn location, Carmen has ambitious plans to expand Little Sunshine Spa to additional locations across Perth. Her vision is to create a network of tranquil retreats where parents and their little ones can enjoy special moments together, strengthening their unique bond in a serene environment.
