How would you like to spend a little time exploring 4000m2 of outdoor hot springs, thermal pools and luxury spa treatments? Us too.
Tawarri Hot Springs will become Australia’s largest contemporary wellness retreat incorporating a number of exciting wellness-focused offerings on the 4000m2 site. The submitted proposals indicate the development will cost $25m AUD bringing a European-style hot springs and wellness spa experience that’s unique to the Australian market to the banks of Perth’s Swan River in Dalkeith.
It’s set to be located 7km from the Perth CBD requiring just a short and convenient trip to the expansive site. But, be prepared to feel like you’ve been transported somewhere much further. Formerly Dalkeith Hot Pools, the location was very popular amongst tourists between the 1920s and 1950s. It’s this rich history that has inspired the reimagining of the location for the modern-day wellness tourist.
Plus Architecture will be responsible for leading the design of the facility after winning the project through a design competition. The luxury concept will bring an immersive experience that incorporates the local landscape, architecture and key aspects of the Western Australian way of life while also drawing inspiration from some of the biggest wellness hot spots across Australia and the world.
A restaurant, cafe, indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and a two-storey treatment centre are all part of the plans designed by Plus Architecture. It’s predicted that upwards of 140,000 guests will visit the world-class facility every year once it’s completed bringing an exciting revival to the riverbank site and a must-visit location to the West Coast of Australia.
Construction is set to kick off in late 2021 meaning we’ll have to keep dreaming a little longer before being able to schedule in a visit to this amazing wellness retreat. For now, these renders of the proposed project will have to do.
