Look Good Feel Better Launch Feel Better Month

Look Good Feel Better Workshop

Look Good Feel Better are launching a new initiative to rally support for their work with cancer patients.

After what’s been a very tumultuous and stressful 18 months or so, it feels like there couldn’t be a better time than now to talk about something positive. Look Good Feel Better, a national community service program, are launching Feel Better Month this September. The initiative will launch an effort to ramp up the incredible work they do with cancer patients.

The program is run by the Cancer Patients Foundation. It relies on volunteers and generous partners to help them in teaching cancer patients how to manage the appearance-related side effects caused by treatment of any type of cancer.

They run both virtual and in-person sessions where experts in skincare, makeup, and wig and headscarf styling mentor participants in bringing their inner glow to the outside. Not only do they offer practical takeaways, the social aspect is undeniable as are the benefits for participants mental health.

Covid challenges won’t hold them back

The impacts of isolation on cancer patients has only compounded the difficulties they face. This tough time only highlights how important it is to give back whenever we can. The work of Look Good Feel Better is a much-needed respite for those dealing with cancer.

Workshop participants walk away armed with practical tips to help boost their confidence.

Feel Better Month will run throughout September and encourages all Australians to acknowledge the importance of self-confidence and a positive mindset, in support of the thousands of cancer patients who will benefit from the Look Good Feel Better program this year.

In addition to the women’s, men’s and young adults Virtual Workshops Look Good Feel Better hold, throughout September they’re offering a number of quick and easy tutorials through Facebook Live on some of the most commonly requested topics, as well as a range of virtual workshops focusing on overall wellness. They also have several language workshops available throughout the month.

A number of experts in their fields will be joining them for the sessions ensuring they’ll be packed with practical information, leaving participants ready to face their cancer diagnosis with confidence.

Showing your support for Look Good Feel Better is easy

As well as raising awareness, Look Good Feel Better are hoping to tap into a little bit generosity from the community to help them continue to provide their workshops free of charge. They have an easy to follow fundraising guide available on their website or to make things super easy, a donation can be made here. And, both David Jones and Myer will donate $1 from every lipgloss or lipstick sale for the month. Is there a better excuse to buy another lipstick? I don’t think there is.
