While it’s the resurfacing lasers and chemical peels that make the biggest difference for clients’ skin, it’s the quick pick-me-up treatments with little to no downtime every medispa and salon relies on for a constant flow of customers.
Trying to keep up with the latest facials is no small task with literally thousands of different techniques, machines, and products on the market, but it seems there are a few seasoned treatments patients continue to rely on, such as microdermabrasion, AHA peels, and oxygen facials.
The latter is experiencing a new boost thanks to a heavenly set of angels, the Victoria’s Secret models. Whether you’re into fashion or not, the VS models have become a phenomenon of their own and are considered some of the most beautiful women in the world known for their bouncy hair and flawless, glowy complexions.
As part of their preparation for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year, which took place on Monday, the angels revealed their skincare routine included oxygen facials by renowned ‘skin whisperer’ Mzia Shiman.
Shiman’s Oxygen Infusion treatment uses “vitamins and hyaluronic acid, which combine under hyperbaric pressure to deliver unparalleled hydration and age defying results instantly.”
The idea behind oxygen facials isn’t new, but has actually been around since the 1940s. Oxygen is used to help replenish skin cells, leaving skin plump and refreshed. As there’s no downtime, it’s become the go-to treatment before a big event for many people.
Models like Elsa Hosk and Devon Windsor posted pictures of their glowing post-oxygen treatment skin on their Instagrams, with Windsor showing the oxygen even plumps her lips.
It’s refreshing to see celebrities talk about their relatively high maintenance skincare routines instead of crediting their “good genes” and three litres of water a day for their flawless complexions, and it’s certainly a welcome boost for beauty therapists and salon owners offering these skin pick-me-ups. Because who wouldn’t want angel skin?
