The World’s First Eco Resort Network Has Launched

The world’s first dedicated networking conference and convening event for professionals working in the eco resort sector has just been announced, and is set to take place in June 2020 in Bled, Slovenia.

Organised by International Glamping Business Magazine, World of Glamping and Regenerative Resorts, and backed by the Slovenia tourist board, the highly exclusive event will comprise of just 70 delegates who will be hand-picked to contribute expertise in a number of areas including sustainability, finance, marketing and operation.

“Since our launch in September, we have received enquiries about the event from all over the world,” says Steph Curtis-Raleigh, Publisher of International Glamping Business and convening organiser.

“People like the idea of a small gathering where they can really explore the issues they face as Eco Resort operators. They want to share best practice on sustainability and they have challenges on issues such as energy, waste and recruitment, as they are often operating in far-flung places. Meanwhile, guests have high expectations of a luxury experience and the market is becoming increasingly competitive. Eco Resort Network will allow a free-flow of ideas and inspiration among operators, consultants and travel writers in the beautiful surroundings of Slovenia.”

Opening with a gala event on the evening of Wednesday June 17, 2020, the programme will cover topics such as how we can save the planet through eco tourism, key challenges each sector faces, areas of opportunity and growth, how to work alongside other businesses to improve outcomes, how luxury travel has transformed, and the demands of today’s traveller.

Among the 70 delegates selected to attend, there will be owners/operators of eco resorts and sustainable boutiques, a small number of investors dedicated to eco resorts, a small number of tour specialists/operators with an interest in eco-tourism, media and select suppliers. Those interested in being considered for a delegate place at the Eco Resort Network are advised to complete the network’s application process, which is now open.
