This New Luxury Spa Will Offer A Groundbreaking Waterhaptic Treatment

The Mandrake Hotel unveils Damu – a new spa destination for transformative wellness in London.

The Mandrake, a luxurious boutique hotel in Fitzrovia, London, founded by entrepreneur and art collector Rami Fustok, is set to open its brand-new spa, Damu, in January 2025. Designed to elevate the hotel’s existing wellness offering, Damu promises a truly transformative experience that blends advanced technology with ancient healing traditions, offering guests a holistic approach to rejuvenation and renewal.

Damu’s immersive spa experience will be unlike anything seen before, featuring innovative treatments that focus on visible signs of ageing and overall vitality. A key highlight is the world’s first multi-sensory Wavess Wellness Pool, which integrates waterhaptics technology with sound and light therapy to deliver a zero-gravity experience. This innovative pool invites guests to float amidst sacred vibrations for a deep physical and mental massage, connecting the body to the origins of perception.

Unique experiences

In addition to the Wavess Wellness Pool, Damu will feature a specialist mud rasul experience, designed for intimate and personalised treatments. Guests will be enveloped in the calming ambience of dark, candlelit mud caves, with muds sourced from the Austrian Alps and bespoke supplements like ethnobotanical extracts. This immersive experience allows visitors to indulge in body scrubs and therapeutic rituals that soothe both mind and body.

Named after the Sumerian god of healing, rebirth, and medicinal plants, Damu’s ethos revolves around transformation and transition, with each treatment offering tailored, premium wellness solutions. Guests will experience an intimate spa journey, with the 700-square-metre space accommodating a maximum of 12 visitors at any given time, ensuring exclusivity and personalised care.

The spa design

Designed by Tala Fustok Studio, the spa’s aesthetic balances The Mandrake’s signature interplay of light and dark, featuring sleek, modern elements such as matte black mosaics, eucalyptus timber details, and softly lit micro-cement walls. The spa’s Tranquillity Room, inspired by the hotel’s famous Jurema Terrace gardens, provides a serene retreat with lush greenery selected by landscape architect Bas Smets, including a rare albino Bird of Paradise plant.

Holistic rejuvenation

In addition to its remarkable interiors and advanced treatments, Damu will offer a range of aesthetic services, including Derma-pen microneedling for collagen stimulation and LED phototherapy. Bespoke spa packages will also be available, allowing guests to enjoy a full spectrum of rejuvenating experiences in one visit.

Rami Fustok, Founder and Owner of The Mandrake, shared his excitement about Damu’s launch: “We’ve worked extensively to create a spa experience like no other. Damu embodies our commitment to innovation and creativity, offering guests a euphoric and transformative journey that aligns with The Mandrake’s holistic values.”

Damu will open bookings this winter.
